If you are looking for something new to listen, especially rap music, or just having a random though that listen to it will improve your listening skill =)), but you have a bias that it comes with violence, strong slang languages, or bad meaning only about showing off stuffs, sex, drugs,... then you give up the though of trying any of good rap song, I suggest, you should definitely try Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. It has been a long time since Eminem, and I mean the Eminem at "Marshall Mather" and "Slim Shady" period, with Mocking Bird, Lose Yourself, Sing for the moment, Space Bound, and so on... not that Eminem after featuring too many artists but not so evolved in making good music anymore. Yes, it has been a long time, since I really "touched" by a rap artist, not just some hits. They bring the whole fresh breath to the rap industry, to make me believe and listen to rap again. And other thing, even for non-rap favored people, they also can still enjoy Macklemore's hit. That I feel I've been "taught" something from a song, been "told" a good story from a song. And just that, maybe the only rap I can listen at the moment is theirs rap. Here are some, to whom it may concern, good song that you may want to listen to give a shot.
The other side:my most favorite song. I don't know why, cuz the topic is not related to me at all, but it just the way he express the motion and the melody of the song, obsessively. Maybe cuz he had substances abuse problem before.
Same love: a very good song about LGBT issues, also my favorite. The clip, on the other hand, is very... inspiring :). We all have the right to love, and to be loved :D.
Make the money: long story short, the thing I'm always reminding myself in the future: make the money, don't let the money makes you
Wing$: A very good message about materialism. In the end, they are just... material ^^.
The end: A beautiful hit about love. The first time I listened to this song, something shaking inside, true. Am I that sentimental =.=?
Thrift Shop: The most popular shop of MnR. But for me, it isn't that good. They have way more better song, it's famous just because it's funky, the beat is catchy, and as the trend right now, people don't want stuff that contain too much to think of. However, the song is not meaningless, I give out something: Why do you have to buy hundreds dollar clothese, where can you get them with just one-tenth of the price, at the Thrift Shop, lol. Another good shot on materialism
Now I can consider you as one of my favorite artists :D. Oh another thing, I don't know why, but many people can share their MV of the internet, maybe cause they allow them to post withou violating the copyright ? COOL!! :D
